Handicap (n) - A circumstance that makes success difficult. Handicap (vt) - To assess the chance of competitors in a contest. “Handicapping” is an exploration of the unique emotional and physical environment present at horse racetracks. Every 30 minutes an uproar of anxious anticipation arises and then quickly dissolves into either disappointment or elation. I seek to capture this constant emotional fluctuation as it is manifested in the appearance and behavior of the tracks patrons - the Handicappers. |
